SONOMA VALLEY NEW LEADERS WORKSHOP PROJECT Sonoma, CA -
June 11-14, 2008
The Sonoma Valley New
Leaders Workshop Project is a collaborative multi-agency project
bringing together
20 high school age participants from the Sonoma Valley
into a 4 day Leadership workshop designed to
create strong new leaders
here in Sonoma. Each agency will have 4-5 participants in the workshop
who will
engage in group team building exercises and develop
inter-personal leadership skills. The outcome of the
4-day workshop will
be that the participants design a community project that will be
implemented after
completion.
The skills most in demand by companies today are self awareness,
interpersonal communication and
emotional mastery. The New Leaders
Programs are designed specifically to meet this unmet need.
Through
interactive experiences, a ropes course and team building exercises,
participants are introduced to
and allowed to design with a new set of
tools:
how they see
themselves
how they experience
others
how words and body
language express contradictory messages.
All
participants apply to this multi-day program that utilizes proven
leadership activities, placing students in
an immersive environment of
awareness, inquiry and laughter.
